ATTY. RENE B. GOROSPE obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (Cum Laude) from Saint Louis University while his Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Santo Tomas. In the 1979, Bar Examinations, he placed 2nd.
He is a faculty member of the UST Faculty of Civil Law and FEU Institute of Law. He is a Bar Reviewer in Political law, Constitutional law and Legal Ethics in various Universities and Review Centers. He has also been a Lecturer in various Mandatory Continuing Legal Education Seminars and a member of the UP Law Center, Committee on Bar Examinations, Political Law and Legal Ethics and Practical Exercises. Moreover, he is the Author of Constitutional Law: Notes and Readings on the Bill of Rights, Citizenship and Suffrage.
He was a Partner in Paras Reynes Manlapaz Marapao & Gorospe Law Offices and a former Associate Lawyer at Quasha Asperilla Ancheta Peña & Nolasco Law Offices.
ATTY. NOEL T. TIAMPONG obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Social Science (Magna Cum Laude) from West Visayas State University. While he was working at the House of Representatives, he finished his Bachelor of Laws at Manuel L. Quezon University.
He then became a Legal Consultant of Congressman Niel Tupas at the House of Representatives Electoral Tribunal and was later hired as Chief-of-Staff of Congressman Nereo Joaquin of Laguna. Atty. Tupas is a practicing lawyer and a professor of law at MLQU teaching Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Land Titles and Deeds, Legal Ethics and Legal Research. At present, he is the consultant of Representative Bai Sandra A. Sema of Maguindanao and Cotabato City and the Political Affairs Officer VI of Congressman Tupas, Jr. of Iloilo.
ATTY. SAMSON S. ALCANTARA obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree at the Manuel L. Quezon University School of Law in 1957 and placed 3rd in the Bar Examinations.
He is a recipient of the Outstanding Abrenian Award in 2005 and the Achiever’s Award given by the MLQU in 2007. In 2009, he was named as an Outstanding Alumnus of the MLQU School of Law.
Prof. Alcantara started teaching in 1967 handling Political Law and Labor Law subjects. Presently, he is a faculty member of the UST Faculty of Civil Law, MLQ School of Law, PLM College of Law, and a bar reviewer in several law schools. He is the author of Philippine Law and Social Legislation, Reviewer in Labor and Social Legislation and Statutes.
ATTY. ALDEN FRANCIS C. GONZALES received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Magna Cum Laude) in 1986 from the University of the East. He completed his Bachelor of Laws (Magna Cum Laude) in 1991 from the University of Santo Tomas.
He was an Auditor at the SGV and Company from 1986 to 1987 and after passing the Bar in 1991, he began his law practice in the same company as a Tax Lawyer. At present, he is the Managing Partner of the Misa & Gonzales Law Offices.
Atty. Gonzales is presently teaching Persons and Family Relations, Obligations and Contracts, Wills and Succession, Torts, Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure.
DR. MARIA LIZA A. LOPEZ-ROSARIO obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Philosophy (Magna Cum Laude, Rector’s Awardee for Academic Excellence) and Bachelor of Laws (Magna Cum Laude, Rector’s Awardee for Academic Excellence) from the University of Santo Tomas. In 1998, she obtained her Doctor of Civil Laws degree from Universidad Complutense de Madrid (Apto Cum Laude por Unanimidad).
Dr. Lopez-Rosario worked as a Public Attorney I at the Public Attorney’s Office in 1991. She is presently a Partner at the Romulo Mabanta Buenaventura Sayoc & De Los Angeles Law Offices.
Dr. Lopez-Rosario teaches Persons and Family Relations, Obligations and Contracts, Credit Transactions and Civil Law Review I.
ATTY. RHETT EMMANUEL C. SERFINO obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of the Philippines-Los Baños, while his Bachelor of Laws degree from the Manuel L. Quezon University where he was the recipient of two awards namely Justice Carmelino Alvendia Foundation Award in Commercial Law and Justice Arsenio Dizon Award in Remedial Law. In the 1997 Bar Examinations, he placed 3rd.
He worked as Court Attorney VI in the Office of Senior Associate Justice Flerida Ruth P. Romero of the Supreme Court. After which, he transferred to the Office of Associate Justice A.R. Melo. Concurrently, he was a writer in Family Today publication where he gives legal advice on issues concerning the family.
Atty. Serfino is a professional lecturer of Civil Law subjects in several law schools namely Manuel L. Quezon University, Universidad De Manila, Polytechnic University of the Philippines and University of Manila.
JUSTICE OSWALDO D. AGCAOILI (Land, Titles and Deeds) is a Bar Reviewer and Lecturer on Political Law and a long time faculty member of the Faculty of Civil Law, UST. He is the author of a book in Land, Title and Deeds.
Justice Agcaoili is a former Assistant Solicitor General who handled various political and constitutional cases on behalf of the government. In 1995, he was appointed as Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals. He retired in 2005. At present, he is the adviser and consultant of Divina and Uy Law Offices in political and constitutional law, administration and election law, as well as naturalization cases.
VIRGINIA JEANNIE P. LIM obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws in Manuel L. Quezon University and completed her Master of Laws in Taxation in the same school. She finished her Doctor of Education and Master of Supervision and Administration in St. Louis University.
She is currently active in law practice. She is a professor and bar reviewer in Taxation in St. Louis University, University of Baguio, University of the Cordilleras, Far Eastern University and MLQU School of Law. She is also an author of several books in Taxation and Commercial law.
ATTY. JOEBERT PENAFLORIDA (to follow)
DEAN NILO T. DIVINA obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Behavioral Science (Cum Laude) in 1985 and his Bachelor of Laws (Magna Cum Laude, Valedictorian, Rector’s Awardee for Academic Excellence) in 1989, both from the University of Santo Tomas.
Dean Divina founded the Divina and Uy Law Offices which is currently the biggest Thomasian law firm in the country with 25 lawyers. He is the Author of the “Handbook on Commercial Law”. Moreover, he is the incumbent Dean of the UST Faculty of Civil Law and holds the distinction of being the youngest Law Dean ever appointed. He is a Bar Reviewer in Commercial Law and a long time faculty member of the UST, where he teaches Corporation Law, Negotiable Instruments Law, Credit Transactions, Special Commercial Law and Commercial Law Review.
DR. ALBERT R. PALACIOS (Transportation Laws) obtained his BS in Law in 1957 and Bachelor of Laws degree in 1960, both from the Ateneo de Manila University while he obtained his Ph.D. in Admiralty and Maritime Laws from Cambridge University, England, 1982.
He is a Maritime Law expert, a practitioner in the field of Maritime Law, and a professor of Admiralty and Transportation Law at the ADMU, UST and San Beda Graduate School of Law. He is also the Managing Partner of the law firm of “A.R. Palacios & Associates”.
Dr. Palacios was the past President of the Maritime Law Association of the Philippines and the Author of a textbook in Admiralty Law entitled: “A Comparative Analysis of the Hague Visby Rules and the Hamburg Rules.”
VIRGINIA JEANNIE P. LIM
DEAN CARLOS M. ORTEGA obtained his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration Major in Accountancy and Bachelor of Laws (Magna Cum Laude), both from the University of the East.
He is a seasoned lecturer and bar reviewer in Criminal and Remedial Law and is affiliated with various law schools in the Philippines such as UP Diliman, UE, SSC-Manila, FEU, MLQU, Adamson University, PLM, UM, Aquinas University, Saint Louis University, Siliman University, University of Iloilo, Notre Dame Academy, South Western University, Northeastern University, Saint Mary University, University of San Carlos, Jose Feliciano College. He is also a member of the UP Law Center, Committee on Bar Examinations in Criminal Law and Remedial Law. He teaches Criminal Law 1 and 2, Criminal Law Review, Criminal Procedure, Special Proceedings and Remedial Law Review.
ATTY. PEDRO T. DABU, JR. obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science (Cum Laude) and Bachelor of Laws (Cum Laude) in Manuel L. Quezon University and completed his Master of Laws in San Beda College.
Atty. Dabu worked as an Associate Attorney at Rebeck Espiritu Law Office. Then, he joined the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor of San Fernando, Pampanga. After which, he shifted to corporate practice, where he became corporate secretary of several corporations. At present, he is a partner at Dabu & Associates Law Office.
Atty. Dabu is a professional lecturer in Jose Abad Santos Law School and Manuel L. Quezon University. Also, he is a seasoned pre-bar reviewer in Criminal Law in different Bar Review Centers.
JUDGE CARLITO B. CALPATURA obtained his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Manuel L. Quezon University (MLQU). He is a former president of the MLQU Central Student Government and member of the Editorial Board of MLQU Law Quarterly.
Prior to his appointment as Metropolitan Trial Court Judge Branch 62 of Makati City, he served as Prosecutor III in the Department of Justice. He also worked for the Bureau of Customs as a Special Investigator Officer. He also had his own law office, Santiago & Calpatura Law Office.
Judge Calpatura is a professor in MLQU and a seasoned Bar Reviewer in Remedial Law. He has also served as a resource officer for Judges’ trainings sponsored by the Philippine Judicial Academy.
DEAN LOPE E. FEBLE obtained his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the Manuel L. Quezon University. Currently, he is taking up his Master of Laws in the same University.
Dean Feble has been active in the practice of law since he passed the Bar in 1984. He worked as a Legal Consultant of the Philippine Veterans Bank and Metropolitan Manila Development Authority. Concurrently, he became the Vice-Dean of the Manuel L. Quezon University School of Law in 2007. Eventually, he became the Dean in June 2009. He has also been lecturing Remedial Law subjects in different Bar Review Schools/Centers.
